Cybersense: Digital Wellbeing Labs
What if technology could heal?
That question guided me as I collaborated with a team of six technologists to design and deliver transformative workshops for over 200 underrepresented youth, many of whom were survivors of poverty, child labor, abuse, and human trafficking. Very quickly, we realized we weren’t just teaching code; we were rebuilding trust in systems, in safety, and in self.
We created trauma-informed, original content on critical digital issues — from cybersecurity and cyber-grooming prevention to algorithmic bias and the emotional dimensions of technology. By grounding complex concepts in participants’ lived experiences, we turned abstract lessons into empowering moments of recognition and agency.
Our curriculum flipped the narrative. Technology was no longer something passively consumed but consciously shaped. The result was more than digital literacy, it was digital authorship, giving participants the confidence to design safer, fairer online spaces. Through enduring NGO partnerships, the program continues to scale sustainably, extending its impact long after the workshops ended.
